Teen Apprenticeship Program (TAP)

Teen apprenticeship Program

Stage Kids is seeking mature teens with a commitment to learning theater-craft.

Students must commit to 3 to 12 weeks at a time, depending on project. Interns need to be available for all rehearsals and performances during the chosen time.

Through its apprentice program, Stage Kids WA (SKWA) cultivates the next generation of theater professionals. We accomplish this through hands-on experience in all of the different facets of producing live theater by interacting with directors and technicians.
Apprentices observe and work with SKWA instructors and theatre professionals. Teen apprentices have the opportunity to teach & assist performance companies of children in drama, dance and voice classes / rehearsals.

All internships are unpaid. Interns must arrange for their own transportation.

  • Must have performed in at least one Stage Kids or Stage TEENS productions or taken at least 2 sessions of classes.
  • Must complete an Internship application and meet with the director for an interview (which applicant must initiate).

Date Saturday, January 6, 2018

With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. stage management

There are many performers and designers that go into making a theatre production come to life before an audience. Students will get a back-stage look at what it means to coordinate all these people and designs as they learn the principles of stage management!

Students will learn to stage manage a show from production preparation, rehearsal management, until the closing night. They will learn how to document actor's movements on the stage, add technology to performances, team management skills, problem solving and so much more! By the end of the camp, students will have a self-created comprehensive guide on how to stage manage their own show for future Stage Kids productions...and beyond!
